About The Life Of CEO Norm Ebenstein

Born to Jeanette and Samuel Ebenstein on the 23rd of October, 1928 in New York City, Norm Ebenstein was raised by his parents to always be proud of his Jewish ancestry always took enormous pride in the achievements of his family members.

Soon after his birth, the family relocated to Worcester in Massachusetts where Norm was found to be a proponent of education. He was educated at Phillips Exeter and later attended Brown University to study economics. He played baseball at varsity where he became a well-known pitcher for his team. While at university he fell madly in love with Shirley Gorlick and the couple went on to enjoy a 65-year marriage.

 

About Norm Ebenstein

After receiving his undergraduate degree from Brown University, he went on to obtain a law degree at Boston University. Early in his career, he became the founder member of Capital Commercial Properties where he fulfilled the role of Company President for fifty years. During this time he was also involved in the creation of various shopping centers as well as the development of residential properties. He was particularly proud of his work with Eden Center, a Virginia based shopping district that served as a cultural and social mecca for Vietnamese people across the East Coast. He participated in a number of projects that will have a positive impact on people of Vietnamese heritage for many years into the future. Norm was also involved in the creation of a foundation focused on encouraging philanthropic activities and played a significant role in establishing a number of non-profit organizations.

While he was very focused on achieving professional success, Norm had a love of tennis which he enjoyed throughout his career and he remained an active tennis player for most of his living years.

Norm Ebenstein passed away on the 20th December 2016 at the age of 88 after living an extremely successful and satisfying life. He was highly respected and admired for his professionalism, intelligence and charisma and deeply loved by his family and friends. He left behind his wife, Shirley, a son and daughter, a daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren who all miss him a lot but take comfort in embracing the huge impact this amazing man had on the world.
